Teds Double Life

TED stands for so many things nowadays, the TED talk app is slowly becoming my new obsession and TED is also a loveable stuffed bear with asshole tendencies. In Ted voice Today I talk smack about the bear. Ted is a 2012 comedy about John Bennett and his bosom buddy a stuffed bear that talks, drinks and functions as a normal member of human society. He came to life one day after John Bennett made a childhood wish for Ted to talk while blowing out candles on his birthday cake

Relationship Intruder

The pair grows up together, TED becomes a childhood star and the movie mainly takes place during the men’s adult years. John has a beautiful girlfriend who he adores. He moves her in but can’t seem to shake off this bear. Ted is over all the time and the pair at times seem like a modern day version of three’s company. Throughout the movie John struggles to become a man and stand up to Ted telling him to bud out and stay in his lane.

Single Friends Problem

This post is not really about Ted but it’s about folks like Ted, who are very comfortable in singledom and have little or no respect for their friends who are in committed relationships. In fact on some levels they feel as though they are an integral part of the relationship being the relief from the alleged ball and chain. They may offer advice without asking, be unwilling to maintain balance between spending time with their friend and often suggest that the three do activities together.

Set Firm Boundaries

Ted can be a great thing at times and Ted can also be downright annoying but guess what? Ted is not the problem. Generally speaking we all want to maintain balance between friends, family and our love lives. As much as we want to point fingers at the Teds of the world it is solely our responsibility to set boundaries when it comes to quality time with friends, family and our significant other or side piece. Ted is chillin…in a pool full of women.
